Halogaland Teater

As a professional stage theater company, Hålogaland Teater in Tromsø, Norway had a very simple goal: to sell more tickets. 9 Clouds helped them achieve that goal with 272 ticket sales and 989 ticket inquiries as a direct result from our social media marketing.

Hålogaland Teater came to 9 Clouds in early May, looking for a boost in ticket sales for their May production of Henrik Ibsen. With no social media presence, we quickly implemented search engine marketing and launched social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube. We quickly promoted crowdsourcing, encouraging theater-goers to upload photos and videos of the visually stunning theatre. This initial push reaped great rewards as Facebook and search engine marketing quickly became lead sources of traffic. The theater saw a 19% increase in web traffic compared to the previous May, a 30% increase in the number of web visitors who purchased tickets online and improved search engine results thanks to the social media profiles. Best of all, they sold out their May show.

From May until August during the normally slow summer months, we saw a 21% increase in the number of new web visitors and fast growth in social media as the number of Facebook and Twitter friends and followers quickly topped 1200 people in a small town with a population of only 60,000.

The strong foundation built by 9 Clouds was complimented by in-house training on how to use the social media tools. Hålogaland Teater now leverages online tools to promote all of their productions. With engaging and active online profiles, Hålogaland is a national leader in effective use of social media thanks to 9 Clouds.
